Stationery Friends

There are loads of great resources for pen, pencil and stationery content online, but I wanted to shout out a few that I frequent on a regular basis.

Vanness Pens – This is the shop where it all started for me. Who knew that visiting a shop would start me down a path to get to where I am in this hobby. Mike and Lisa are great, and they really helped to bring more inks to the pen show scene early on. I love every chance that I get to make it back to Little Rock to visit my unofficial home store.

The Gentleman Stationer – I have been following TGS since around 2015. I always loved his approach of using analog items to make notes, writing and journaling more interesting. I didn’t even realize that he was almost a neighbor until years later, and now I am lucky to be able to go to his retail shop probably. more than my wallet would prefer. The Gentleman Stationer has a Patreon which I support as well.

The Well Appointed Desk – This is another site that I have been following since 2015 as well. While I didn’t use as many things that Ana and her other contributors wrote about in the past, I have recently gotten into the Col-O-Ring and Col-O-Dex swatch cards, as well as reusable stamps, Washi, and more. The Well Appointed has a Patreon which I support as well.

Olive Octopus Ink – I met Lisa through our local pen club, and found her to be a great asset to the pen community. She is a virtual ink encyclopedia, and has really expanded my skillset when it comes to ink swatching and collecting. She has a great Twitch stream with an active viewership that is wonderful to be a part of.

Butler Stationery – I have not been going to Butler all that long, as he opened up shop a couple of years ago when I was not that active into the pens and stationery hobby, but now it has become a regular place to go. Jon not only has new pens and stationery items, but he repairs and sells vintage pens as well. He is based in Columbia, TN.

Inkdependence – In my stationery journey, Mike’s site is a newer follow for me, but I really like the format of how he presents new items, and his approach to reviews. His Patron only Discord really got me into seeing and utilizing all of the pen related content in the Discord universe, so he is definitely a great site to follow. Inkdependence has a Patreon which I support as well.

Pen Addict – There is not much that needs to be said here, Brad has been a mainstay in the pen world since before I ever used a fountain pen. He was able to take his hobby into a career, and the Pen Addict has brought so many people into the hobby, and continues to do so still. Brad has a Pen Addict membership program which I support.
