Little Rock Hotel Stream: Looking at my Latest Vanness order and some new to me typewriters

I am in Little Rock to visit the Arkansas Pen Club meeting today, so I came in a day early and hung out at Vanness yesterday and picked up a massive order of stationery to be able to do more letter writing. I haven't taken anything out of the bag yet, so I thought why not do it on a stream.

Today we are unboxing the newest release from Asvine, the V800. This pen is a combination of some of their previous success stories in that it is a vacuum filler with one of their new #8 nibs. This pen was only recently released, so follow along as we unbox it, gather some first impressions and then ink it up and do a little bit of writing.
I purchased this pen from Amazon, and I got the green body with an EF nib. I use the Lamy Crystal Peridot to fill this up and do my initial writing impression. The V800 is turning heads with its combination of affordable luxury, robust design, and thoughtful details. It’s perfect for anyone looking to upgrade their writing experience without breaking the bank.

Will This Be The Model That Makes Me Enjoy Using TWSBI Pens?

In this video I am taking another shot at seeing if I can find a TWSBI that I truly enjoy using. I picked up a TWSBI Precision in the gunmetal finish. This pen doesn't look like a TWSBI, has a completely different feel in the hand from any TWSBI that I have used, and is all metal.
I came across this pen while shopping at the physical Gentleman Stationer store in Nashville. The Precision also comes in a blue finish that was released fairly recently, but that color didn't catch my eye. Seeing the gunmetal pen in the case, I was intrigued enough to ask to see it, and then we can see where we ended up.

I ink this pen up with Lamy Crystal Obsidian ink, as I felt like the black was a great compliment to both the gunmetal and stainless access on the pen.

I do a writing sample on Life bank paper, and I also end up testing to see if this TWSBI Precision will fit in the pen holder on my Bible size Plotter.

Fountain Pens Meet Micarta: A Match Made in Heaven

In this video, I was able to snag a Skogsy pen that was available between the San Francisco Pen Show and when he listed remaining stock on his website. I have wanted to add a micarta pen to my collection, and this was a perfect fit. I picked up a reddish orange canvas pen in the 14mm model. This is a larger diameter pen which I tend to prefer, so this ended up being a perfect match for my writing and the way I prefer to hold my pens.
The craftsmanship of this pen is second to none, and when paired with the EF nib with custom cactus engraving and the single pen Rickshaw sleeve, this was just a win all around. I paired this pen with some Akkerman Dutch Masters Vermeer ink, and it is a great combination.
I show a writing sample on some iroful paper and I can say, the nib came perfectly tuned from the start. I look forward to getting to sit down and use this for some extended writing as soon as I am able.
