The Best Pens I Collected This Year

As the year draws to a close, it is time to take a look back at all of the fountain pens that made their way into my collection over the year and see what I would determine to be the top 5 pens of 2025. As I did last year, I also add in a couple of honorable mentions, and then I go through all of the maker pens that I added this year, as maker pens don’t fall into a ranking system for me, as they are all unique.

2025 Colorverse Inkvent Calendar Unboxing Days 7-12 | New Inks Swatched

Join in as I unbox and explore days 7-12 of the 2025 Colorverse Inkvent calendar. In this video, I’ll be sharing my first impressions of these 6 days of inks. From creating ink swatches to exploring the different color exploration possibilities, I show the swatches on Col-O-Ring swatch cards and talk about the colors after they have had a chance to dry and reveal their true colors so to speak.

Is Crena Spark Paper The New Tomoe River?

In this video I am taking a look at the Crena Spark paper that I originally received alongside the A5 Bee Plus ring binder. This is marketed as a Tomoe River style paper that is made in China. The paper is quite interesting, and it has been fun to give some of it out to people at pen club or at the Pelikan hub to see others responses to it at well. I liked the original pack enough, that I ordered 2 more packs of blank, a pack of grid, and a pack of dot grid.

I use my standard set of testing pens and pencils, so that I have a side by side comparison between various papers. I do a side by side comparison with Tomoe River 52 and show that side by side. I have been using this work random writing and work, and I have still found it enjoyable after using it for some time.
