Today has overall, been a terrible travel day. I had the joy of sitting in an airplane at the gate for over an hour in St. Louis while apparently someone fro me the previous flight was arrested, so my 50 minute flight turned into an almost 2.5 hour flight. Once i finally got to Tulsa, my iPad gps took me to the wrong side of the city, so i got to tour the greater Tulsa area on small backroads. Elapse to 6:30 when I finally get to my hotel, which was clocking on a 14 hour day to find out that somehow the hotel managed to sell out except for one room, a smoking room. They apologized and said they would move me to another room tomorrow, so i wasn’t happy but I said that I would try to deal. Upon walking into the room, I instantly started coughing. I called the front desk and said that this really isn’t going to work, but due to this being a company direct bill situation, I don’t have many options of what can be done. The one big kink is that there is some sort of baseball tournament in town so there are no rooms available anywhere else either. I am just going to leave stuff in my rental car tonight and get clothes in throning so that they do not smell like smoke. I still smell the smoke on what i am wearing just from the hour i was in the room waiting for the manager to call me back, which never happened as I just got calls back from the front desk clerk. I went to Walgreens and got some candles to try and make it through the night without my lungs dying. I plan to seek out a nice hurt to heart with the manager in the morning before heading to work to make sure that this is resolved in my favor. Their guarantee is 100 percent satisfaction or the night is free, so I expect them to hold up to that even though it will really be my company who benefits, not me.

I still need to do some research to figure out what there is here to take some pictures of when i leave work tomorrow. I figure that there has to be something worthwhile, and i plan to find what that is. I just hope that the rest of my travel and hotel time goes smoothly.

I am kind of torn as I would have preferred to have the extra money to spend at Dragon*Con, but it will be nice to get back home. I need to get my Lostume finished and start digging all of the other costumes out of the bins in order to start packing for the con. The other thing that I am kind of peeved about is that fact that I have not had a chance to get out and take any pictures this go round yet, so I am going to have to try to make it somewhere on Friday when I have the day off. I am thinking of driving to Santa Fe to see what I can find there, but I am not 100 percent sure yet.

For any of you who have been to Albuquerque or Santa Fe, any suggestions of where to go?

Instead of being here until the 10th, I was supposed to be scheduled to be here until the 17th. Now I was debating whether or not I could stay. Sirius is coming back on the 16th, so I wasnt sure who would be able to watch him. Luckily Shane is able to let him out, so I will be able to stay as needed and get more money that will go towards Dragon*Con. One of the downsides of this is that I wasnt prepared to be here this long, so I did not pack as planned for this long of a stay, so I will get to do laundry about every two days. It could be worse. As for now, I am sitting here getting paid to do nothing. Cheers.

I have been working 7pm – 7am pretty much every day, and this is my 7th day straight of that schedule. I really can’t complain, because I have done the math, and I will be getting what equates to a months worth of pay for 2 weeks of work. My paycheck should end up being for around 196 hours for two weeks, with all of that time being 2nd or 3rd shift with a holiday thrown in the middle of all of that. I think that with that check, and some other money I have headed my way, I will have my car and credit card paid off in the very near future. The best part is that I am slated to come out here the first two weeks of August for the 2nd round of our new software implementation, and that paycheck will hit a few days before Dragon*Con.

It doesn’t look like I will be able to have time to make any new costumes for D*C this year due to being out here, but I am ok with that. At least I will be clear of debt except for my harley and house, and that will be of more benefit in the long run.

I am headed up to Metropolis, IL in the morning to go to the Superman festival. It will be a 3 hour ride there, and I plan on coming back tomorrow evening, so I will have a little time on the bike tomorrow. I hope to be able to get some good pictures of the festival, as well as the KY state HOG rally that happens to be in Metropolis at the same time.

There is a pretty good chance that I am going to get some rain as I am riding, but that is part of the game. Hopefully I can avoid it, but the forecast is working against me.

We are launching a new system, and they want people from the Corp office to go and man the launch war room. I volunteered as it will be extra money in overtime as well as a chance to add another city to places that I have been. Sirius is going to go to Atlanta while I am gone to stay with my mom and he will get to play with my nephew.

The one big downside is that I will not be in town for July 4th. I hope that I am able to go out and enjoy the holiday but I am not 100 percent sure what the transportation situation will be yet. I guess I will see once I get there.

I drank lots of beer. There was no drama at all. Everyone there had a blast. All cons should be like that. My total of my big mug was 3 1/4 mugs. which works out to approximately 14 bottles of Killians. I wish there would have been time for more. That was just Saturday night. I lost count of Friday pretty quickly.

I got to drink a beer with for his birthday which was cool as well. Today is Crispy’s birthday so be sure and wish him a good one.

I am back to a week of work that if the past few have been any indicator, will go rather quickly. I had a performance review today, and I really want to hang it on my refrigerator. I was in shock at the great comments that I got from my manager. That is always a nice feeling. I hope that it will lead to more money before too long, which would make it even better.

I have become really involved with the airsoft team, as within a week of being on the team, I was asked to do some maintenance on their website as well has help with the message board. I really don’t mind this as it is easy, and I like to be able to help out. I can do most of that in the lulls at work, which makes it even better.

March 15th is Noob day at the airsoft field. I am still a noob for this as I haven’t played an official field game. It will also be the first game at which I will be able to use my SAW. I am excited for that. Well back to surfing the internetz while I am here at Portland Brew.

I have Friday off as I will be in Chattanooga for Chattacon. This means that I need to get all of my costume crap together and ready to load into my car by Thursday night, as I want to get to Chattanooga early on Friday to try to check in early. That reminds me that I need to call the hotel and request early check in.

I think that I am taking Chief, well I guess regular deck crew as I am bald and have a huge beard, BSG Marine, and my Centurion. I might take the jumpball suit for one last hurrah before I sell it, but I think it is going to be a little cold for that one.

Well off to work in the 18 degree weather.
