BDUs. I have them

My BDUs are done except for a patch. I think I will pull my good patch from my deck suit and put my old patch back on it until I can get a new one at the con.

D*C Approaches

Well Dragon*Con is less than 40 days away. I finally got around to ordering what I need for my one new costume this year. I am not going for anything elaborate, but I did opt to get all of the screen accurate brand variations to make my costume as correct as possible. I am making a Dharma Initiative jumpsuit. I have decided to have mine read either Photographer or Historian, as I will probably be doing that more picture taking than costuming this year. I won’t be able to get everything assembled until I am back from round two of being in Albuquerque, but all that will be left is to get my embroidery done and sew on my patch. I am looking forward to the fact that this will be like my BSG jumpsuit, in that it is one of the most comfortable costumes that exists. The other costumes I am taking this year are my BSG Deck suit, BSG Marine, possibly my Resident Evil Centurion, and if I get it finished, my Green BSG BDUs. Add in my kilts, and a few T-shirts and I will be set for the duration of the con.

I will be taking pictures for some of Tom’s articles for GeeksofDoom.com which should be pretty cool as well. Overall, I am mainly ready for a vacation and a chance to get to hang out with the friends and fellow geeks that I normally only get to see once a year.

Tonight is the night

Finally, Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica will start tonight. I have been waiting for this for quite some time, and am very interested to see how they will take the series to its end. It is sad knowing that the series will be ending in a short amount of time, but then it can be added to my list of favorite tv shows that either went out due to stupid network executives, or ones that didn’t want to try and drag on and went out in their prime.

Remember, it is all about the toasters.

It’s time…

For an entry that isn’t from loudtwitter.

I don’t have that much to post about but I feel like I need to. Let’s see, last weekend I participated in a Toys for Tots event and a Christmas parade. I got sick again at the beginning of the week due to being in my Plo Koon mask sweating, while in the cold. That pretty much sucked.

One saving factor is that Razor came out on DVD on Tuesday. Tuesday night, I watched every minute of both disks. It was much better then the version shown on TV, as it filled in some of the blanks. Of course, the fleet is already starting on costumes from Razor, and I am no different. I need to do some airsoft store shopping here in the near future for a couple of new guns to go with some new costumes.

The big news in the past while is my scooter was hit by an old lady. She somehow didn’t see the covered scooter which was parked in a parking spot. I just got the estimate back from the dealership today, so hopefully I will be able to get the scooter back here in the next week or so. It amounts to all of the side panels on the right side of the bike having to be replaced. Luckily for her, nothing was damaged on the frame etc.

I am looking forward to seeing The Golden Compass tomorrow. There has been much controversy over the movie, mostly by people who haven’t read the books for themselves to make their own decisions. I know what the subject of the books are, and that does not affect my beliefs or faith in any way. I am quite perplexed at how many people are blindly following what others are saying about it and not doing the research to make their own decisions.

Next Thursday I will be participating in a Make a Wish event of some sort at the Adventure Science Center. I have never been there before, so that will be neat to see, as well as benefiting a good cause.

It is time to help folks out with a vote

http://community.livejournal.com/battlestar_blog/753149.html

Please go to this site and vote for number 8 and number 17. You can vote for 2 people, so make it count. and both did great jobs, but I am being selfish in that I made alot of Jess’s suit, and I was the one who drew Gen’s tattoo.

Go vote. Voting ends Wednesday night.

Real entry coming soon to a LJ near you.
