The Unit

I just got done watching 9 episodes of season 2 of The Unit and I have a couple of things to say about it.

1. Read the book Inside Delta Force by Eric L. Haney. It was the inspiration for the series.

2. Thank you to the creators of torrent files, as watching tv in HD that you can download for free rocks.

3. If I didn’t have stuff to do tomorrow, I would be watching the other 5 episodes that I downloaded.

That is all.

Book: Night Stalkers

I just finished reading The Night Stalkers by Michael J. Durant. (Amazon Link)

I picked this book up since a couple of my 501st friends were in the Night Stalkers when they were serving, and I thought it would be interesting to see what that was all about. The book chronicles the forming of the unit when they were operated in complete black. No one knew of the unit’s existence, and there was no such thing as the 160th at this point. The members didn’t follow grooming standards, flew into theater on commercial flights, never together etc.

The book tells of when the world of the Stalkers first came into national recognition during the famous Blackhawk Down incident and also chronicles many other of the Stalkers missions that are allowed to be spoken of. This is a great book if you like military history, or action books, as many of these accounts, read like an action movie, but you realize that there were really soldiers there going through it all.

Interesting Customer day

Today was a kind of interesting day in regards to my first couple of customers. The first point of interest who called and was looking for a book about Lance Armstrong. Now since I have read pretty much the whole cycling section, I think that she got much more information than she could have hoped for. I gave her some titles to look at when she came in later on in the day. I happened to be there when she brought a couple up to the information desk with her son who needed the book, and she was soo thankful for all of the information and suggestions. I felt like I had done my job.

The second customer of note was the one who came up to the information desk and asked for a book on…costuming. When I said what type, she gave me an odd look, and then I explained that I was a costumer, and then 15 minutes of conversation about costuming later, I felt once again like I had done a good job for the day.
