Well as I alluded to the other day, here is the new addition to my house that makes me very happy. I am now the owner of a Juki LU-562 industrial walking foot sewing machine. It will sew though up to around 7/16″ of almost anything I put in front of it. It was going through two layers of leather like it was nothing. Here are a couple of pictures, as well as one of Sirius who was looking on when I was coming back in from the garage when taking pics.

Well another season of the Tennessee Renaissance Festival has come to a close. It was a very wet year, but I still had a great time regardless. It is always a great time, and a chance to hang out with some people that I only really get to see one time a year. I didn’t take as many pictures this year as normal, as I didn’t want to have the camera out with the chance of rain, but I still had it out for most of the last Saturday of the faire.
Here are a couple of samples.

I long for the days when I could be outside, and my eyes would not be watering and I would not be sneezing up a mixture of who knows what. It is that time of year where I look like I am coming off a bender and looking for a fix. In a way this is true, as at times, I would do damn near anything for some Visine. It hasn’t been that bad so far, as we have had enough rain in the past month to last a year, but now that the grass is starting to grow, the full assault on my senses has commenced. For instance, I had the pleasure of mowing my lawn the other day for the first time. It had been probably 12 years since I last mowed a lawn, and it wasn’t all that bad. The grass still had enough moisture in it that it didn’t really cause me to go crazy or blind, so that made it ok in my book.
I think the worst part is that when I am riding my motorcycle, the particles of death somehow find their way around my glasses that have a foam liner to seal them to my face and embed themselves on my retina. It is very hard to rub your eyes when you have gloves on and are riding at 50 miles per hour. I learned this last night many times.
In other news, I am in negotiations to trade an item that is very precious to me to someone for something that will become precious to me, and many of my costumer friends. I should know tomorrow for sure, and then I will post a full run down with pictures.

Ren faire this year has been quite different, as it has rained almost every day. This last Sunday was the first time that I was able to take the camera out with me to get some pictures. The gallery can be seen at http://www.dwrd.net/photography/galleries/tnrf-2009/.
There is one more weekend of faire left, and then I am going up to Indiana to be a handler/photographer for Hofmann when his base is trooping a roller derby match, and then the state Harley rally, and back to GA for the final weekend of GARF.
After the weekend of the 5th, I think I will be able to have a couple of weekends to just spend around the house continuing the process of unpacking the rest of the boxes are haunting my garage.
