Here is a picture one of the SO guys edited for me. It makes me smile.

This weekend was MidSouth Con. Well let me start with Thursday actually. On Thursday I drove a 24 foot box truck for work to a couple of the other stores. I went from Nashville, to Lexington, to Cincinnati, and then back to Nashville. I put in about a 15 hour day if you take out the hour total time for the two meals and gas stops. Morgan rode with me, as it would have been a pretty hellacious drive to do solo. I got back home around 10:45 that evening. I packed up a couple of things and then went to sleep, so that I would be ready for my drive the following day.
Friday:
I eventually leave for MidSouth Con about two hours after I had planned to leave. We get to the hotel and have to wait around for what seems like forever for us to get our room. Everybody gets there and we go out and get some Mexican food, and then get into the costumes and hit the Consuite. The night went on, and eventually sleep was had around 3:30 something I think.
Saturday:
We get up around 9 when some new folks are arriving at the con. The rest of the day was a mixture of hitting the consuite, the 2 meals, and then a group meeting. After the meeting, I went back to my room to put back on the emperor, and we got the idea of putting Joe into Loki’s TK. After some towels and a pillow under the chest plate, we got him suited up and hit the con. It must be a sight to see 6 or 7 Mandalorians, 3-4 TK, the emperor, Batman and MasterChief parading through a con blasting MC Chris’s Fetts Vette from a boombox and owning the con. After the masquerade they had the dance floor setup. This is where it was rather odd for me. If you know me, you know that I DO NOT DANCE. For some reason, the costume took over, and not only did I go onto the dance floor, but I was there for about 3 hours dancing in a blanket. I saw there who is also a Nashville Browncoat, which was pretty cool too. THe responses that you hear on a dance floor of, dude, I just danced with Darth Sidious is kind of an odd thing. I don’t think anyone got pictures of the dance floor, but I am sure that come the next con, we will be doing the same thing. I eventually went to sleep around 5 am.
Sunday:
After about 2.5 hours of sleep, I wake up past when I wanted to and rush to get in the car and on the road so that I can get to work. I get a ticket along the way home, so it was just a great way to end a weekend.
It is finished. Thanks to Rose from severedwings.com, who is also a member of the Southern Outpost, I now have a finished Darth Sidious costume. Here are a couple of pics.

I believe that I will debut this on Sunday at the trooping event in Chattanooga.
