Hmm

I haven’t really done a real update in a while. For some reason I haven’t seen the need to do so. I think some of it might be due to the fact that I had been watching le Tour, watching tons of Firefly, and spreading its goodness to friends and co workers. I have been doing less and less of going out and doing stuff. Granted I have done a couple of things with the HP folks, and the Browncoats, which are essentially the same group of people. I really need to go out more often. I feel like I am neglecting other groups of friends, but at the same time, I feel as if they are somewhat neglecting me. I get an occasional phone call, but it is normally to go out drinking, which I pretty much find pretty pointless these days. I am over that phase now. Lately I have realized that I need to study up and take my GMAT soon. I need to do grad school now if I am going to do it. Just seems like I need to be doing more right now. Oh well, back to wasting time in front of the TV.

New Phone

I finally got a new phone. I have entered the land of camera phones. I am quite enthused. It is a Samsung A800. It has a 2 mega pixel camera in it which means that I will essentially always have a camera with me.

HBP

Ok I guess that I should chime in on this whole Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince thing, but for the sake of the slow, I shall do it behind the wonderful thing known as a cut.

Ok I will start by saying that over all I did enjoy the book. I might not have been as enthused about it as some, but I did enjoy it. I guess that I just like more action, which was just not present at the beginning of this book. I did think that J.K. did a great job of laying the foundation for book 7 that will be amazing. Since I am not a shipper, all of the couplings in the book did not bother me, although Ron really needs to buck up and go on and get with Hermione.

I am torn as to whether or not Snape will end up being good, but there has to be something there since Dumbledore had trust in him. I guessed that he was the HBP pretty early in the book due to the potions book.

I am sad that Dumbledore died. He was indeed one of my favorite characters. I didn’t full out cry, but I did feel some tears start to form. I think though that he will come back in some way or another. I mean he did have Fawkes, so that has to further play into the situation in some way.

I was upset that Neville was not a bigger part in this book. I am still convinced that he is going to have a huge part to play. I think that his parents will snap out of their condition and take care of some business, all auror style.

I did have a visual of what things are gonna look like in book 7. Harry is going to be like Wyatt Earp at the end of Tombstone. He will have his posse and they will ride through the country on broom sticks killing death eaters on sight. He will use the quote to one death eater that he leaves to go tell Voldemort that “You tell him that I’m coming, and Hell’s coming with me.” It would be great in the movie version at least.

I think that the school will play a part somehow in the next book. Well they will float between Hogwarts and 12 Grimwald place. R.A.B is Sirius’s brother, and the locket is either there or Kreatcher has it, or Mundungus sold it to someone. Ryan also made a good suggestion that Harry might be Voldie’s final Horcrux. I really like that theory, so I will agree with it.

Other than that, I don’t really have anything else to say about it right now. I am sure that more ideas will come after I have discussed the book with others who have finished it.

Now that was some good tv

Today’s Tour de France stage is one that will go down in history. It was the fastest ever recorded TTT or Team Time Trial if you are unfamiliar with the terminology. All of the teams did fairly well but the real contest was when the last 4 teams were up for their starts. They were the main contenders. As it normally goes, each team was faster than the next, and the real contest was between the Discovery Channel team and CSC. Discovery set the fastest time of the day and CSC was right on their heels and at a pace to best them by just a few seconds, but then Dave Zibrenski, the current holder of the yellow jersey crashed with only 1.5Km to go. He got torn up pretty badly and CSC ended up losing to Discovery by 2 seconds. The irony of that is the fact that Zibrenski was leading Armstrong in the GC by just 2 seconds. You cannot script tv like that. The way things are looking now, this years Tour is going to make some good tv all the way till the 24th when they roll into Paris.
