Monthly Archive for December, 2004

Hmm has it been a month already…

Well as the subject says, it has been pretty much a month since I last posted. Let’s see what has gone on. After 24 years, I finally stopped biting my fingernails, I didn’t see family for Christmas(but Becky rocks for inviting me over to her house for Christmas eve), I survived the Christmas season at work, Started hanging out with people from work on a regular basis outside of work, became addicted to Halo 2 again, Starting writing in a real journal after 2 years of not touching it, and there are other things but I can’t remember them right now.

As I mentioned I stayed here for Christmas due to bad weather, but I still had a good time. Thank you to all of those who sent Christmas cards, and I hope that people received the ones that I sent. I can’t really think of anything else to write about right now. I don’t have plans for New Years yet, so I need to figure something out since that is less than a week away, but I’m not worried. If nothing else, I can always repeat last year of drinking with Sirius and watching DVDs. Well Cheers for now.

Is this week over yet?

This has been a rather long week and it is only Wednesday. I have been training new hires at work for the week and that means that I will not get my normal second day off until tomorrow. Now granted I had 3 days off before Turkey day due to regular days off, the store being closed on Thanksgiving day, and some luck, but working on Black Friday and the following Saturday seemed like a week themselves. To add to the fun, we had a staff meeting at 7:30 a.m. yesterday and then I was in the store until 6. Nothing like a nice long day when you are on salary to wish for hourly pay again.

I setup my Christmas tree, and it is still rather pathetic. I need some ornaments that aren’t the cheap glass balls you can get at Target. I did buy a fiber optic wreath for my door that flashes various colors. I think that it is pretty cool. I guess I will always be a geek at heart. I really shouldn’t even be awake yet, but there is more fun to be added to my day. I had a plumber here this morning to fix this god awfully loud noise reverberating through the pipes in my walls, and in order for him to fix it, he has to shut off my water. I am fine with that, but due to these condos originally being built as apartments back in the 60s, the water shutoff, shuts off like 8 units. He wouldn’t do it because that is when people are getting ready for work and taking showers, so now he has to come back later while I am at work to fix it. Luckily my roommate will be able to be here, or I would really be pissed. Well I will be pissed anyway once I get the bill I’m sure.

Santa made a visit to my house

Santa showed up at my place the other day. He wasn’t so enthusiastic about his hat, but he liked his coat.
