I have been riding much more lately. On Monday I got my bike computer in the mail, so now I can know how fast I go, how far etc. After riding this morning, I looked at my odometer. It said 86 miles. I have gone 86 miles in a week. I got up both Wednesday and Friday before work and went riding 20 miles on Wed and 25 on Friday. The odd thing about realizing how far that I have gone this week, is that my legs really aren’t tired or sore. My arms are stiff from holding onto the handlebars, but other than that, I don’t really feel any different. I guess I will have to set a goal of riding over 86 miles this next week.
I have found it really relaxing to go riding by myself and just listen to my ipod as I ride. It is a nice escape and when riding in the morning, it actually gives me more energy for the rest of the day. I need to begin to vary my riding though, as when I ride at Shelby, it is pretty much all flat ground. I need to start riding on the roads more where I have to deal with hills. The one thing that puts a kink in this plan in my work schedule. I would prefer to not ride on the roads at night if possible, but that is pretty much when I would have to do it unless I want to ride in the heat of the day. I guess that I can do road riding on my days off, but as for now, I guess that I will just keep riding at Shelby and throw in a road at least 1 day a week.
